Should I rekey my locks or replace them?
Rekeying changes the key that works in a compatible existing lock. It is often suitable after a move or lost key when the hardware is in good condition. Replacement may make more sense for damaged locks, a different finish or new features such as a keypad.
How much does locksmith service cost?
The estimate depends on the service call, the work required and any parts. Send your town, a description of the problem and optional photos. Some repairs need an on-site assessment before the full scope and price can be confirmed.
Can a multipoint lock be repaired without replacing the door?
In many cases, an adjustment or compatible replacement part can address the problem. The right repair depends on the door condition, lock model and parts availability. Photos of the door edge, handles and any brand markings help us identify the system.
Can you install a smart lock on my existing door?
Many standard deadbolt doors can accept a compatible smart lock. Door thickness, preparation, clearance and latching all matter. Mortise and multipoint doors need a separate compatibility check. Send the smart-lock model and photos before buying or scheduling an installation.
