This Calves Neck Road job involved replacing a specialty 2-inch-long mortise cylinder in a mortise lock on an extra-thick door. The photo shows the removed cylinder during the work. The 2-inch measurement is the cylinder length, rather than the door thickness.

Is changing a mortise cylinder the same as replacing the whole lock?
